Darryl has been focused on photography from the day he first got his hands on a Pentax K1000 and saw his first 35mm chrome at age 15. This early drive landed him as one of two candidates admitted to Art Center College of Design directly out of high school. There he was spotted by a recruiter for Hallmark Cards who transplanted this west coaster to the middle coast.
Being a staffer for Hallmark afforded Darryl the incredible opportunity to learn and evaluate emerging digital technologies, while pushing his department creatively. Bringing those skills to the freelance market in 1993, he embarked on a mission to deliver his imaginative photo illustration and crisp design aesthetic to the advertising scene.
Now Darryl finds himself operating studios in two cities, and leading a team of three photographers providing exceptional images to advertising and design clients. With a strong sense of humor (one instructor at Art Center suggested if the photo thing didn’t work out, maybe he should do stand-up), shoots are always loose and a lot of fun!
Just don’t let him near the ipod, or you may have to endure some Ohio Players and Earth, Wind and Fire and his accompanying dance moves.
